HAPPY HALLOWEEN

We had fun at knitting today. A couple of "us" dressed up - the other's chickened out - sorry guys - had to bug you a little - ha ha!!!!!

We all loved looking at some finished products as well as in progress projects.

I could have done more, but...............................

Pam is getting for her safari, oh, I mean her cross country trek.......

Dot has finished her sweater and is it gorgeous!!!!!

Robin has finished her Olympic scarf with fantastic pom poms on the bottom.

Ren is knitting on a 2nd Olympic scarf as well as a beautiful neck warmer for....oops, I had better not say in case "she" reads the blog.

HALLOWEEN IS FAST APPROACHING

With Halloween fast approaching, thought I would post some fun "knitted" Halloween pictures that I saw online. The possibilities of what you can knit are endless.

FIONA SHAWL

I believe there has been a request for the instructions for the Fiona Shawl - Fonzie says, "Here you go!":

Fiona Shawl

Materials: Fiona by Fezo (or comparable)

Approximately 246 yards

2 skeins

Cast on 3 stitches. Knit 1 row

Next row: knit 1, make 1, knit to end

Repeat this row every row until you run out, leaving enough for the bind off.

INCREASING - MAKING A SIMPLE INCREASE (knitting into the front and back of the stitch):
Kfb = knit in front and back of st

An easy way to add a stitch is to use an existing stitch. Insert the right needle into the stitch, wrap the yarn around the needle and pull through as for a normal knit stitch, elongating the loop slightly. Don't pull the stitch over the left needle yet.

Bring the top of the right needle around to the back and knit into the back loop of the stitch as shown (see the FAQ on knitting into the back loop for more detail). You now have two stitches on the right needle.

BLOGGING - LACK OF :-(

I'm sure you all understand how busy life gets - so please forgive me for not posting lately. I'll think about it and whoosh - there goes another day.

Friday knitting is going well. We have about 9 regulars - which I think is pretty good. Last Friday, I was not there, as well as Pam and Andrea. This Friday and next Friday, I will be unable to attend due to being out of state both times. Ren will be there this Friday, but will be unable to be there next Friday.

SO, NEXT FRIDAY, THERE WILL BE NO KNITTING!!!! WE WILL RESUME ON HALLOWEEN - YIKES!!!! I THINK WE SHOULD DRESS UP - DARE YOU!!!!!!!!! SEE YOU THEN!!!!!!

BY THE WAY - IF YOU ARE INTERESTED - I RETRIEVED THE NEAT PUMPKINS FROM A NEW BLOG I HAVE FOUND THAT INCLUDES THE PATTERN FOR THE SMALLER ONES:
